Bornemann Gewindetechnik, based in Delligsen, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. In 1964, Gerhard Dietrich laid the foundations for his life’s work in Stroit. In the years that followed, the tipping and turret turning company grew to become one of the world’s leading manufacturers of complex threaded parts. Sales manager Sergii Goman: “There is hardly a thread that we cannot produce. We can only deliver on this promise because we are constantly learning and adapting to individual requirements. Whether in conveyor technology, the medical sector, or motor racing—our threaded parts are used in virtually every branch of industry.”
Bornemann has something that large corporations lack: strong family cohesion. Instead of having to bow to majority shareholders, Bornemann has always been able to make its own decisions and successfully weather crises. In 1997, space in Stroit became scarce, and the company moved to the Klus industrial park in Delligsen. Today, 65 people are employed here. Even during the crisis in 2009, all jobs were retained. Moritz von Soden will soon take over the management of the company together with his wife Kathrin. “It is only thanks to the openness of our employees and their constant willingness to break new ground that Bornemann Gewindetechnik is now a world leader in the manufacture of complex and large threaded parts. In these specialist areas, we are, so to speak, the FC Bayern of thread technology,” confirms Moritz von Soden.
After 50 years, are there still moments when your work makes your heart beat faster? Production manager Karsten Kreth: “Of course. We recently delivered the largest spindle we have ever built. It was a custom-made product for plant engineering. Things like that make us proud and motivate us all.” Bornemann Gewindetechnik is one of the leading manufacturers of custom-made threaded spindles and nuts. These include, for example, single and multi-start external threads, internal threads, trapezoidal threads, saw threads, modular threads, steep threads, cross threads, round threads, pointed threads, screw conveyors, and special threads. They are used in highly demanding industrial sectors such as drive technology, medical technology, the food industry, offshore applications, lifting systems, dams, racing, stage and theater construction, and general special machine construction.
